Afterschool Care at Riverside Baptist Church:
Afterschool Care at Riverside Baptist Church is more than
just an afternoon program—it’s a gospel-centered ministry where children
are safe, loved, and encouraged to grow both academically and spiritually.
Every part of our program is rooted in God’s Word, helping kids understand that
faith is the foundation for life. We provide transportation from Helena Elementary and
Intermediate Schools and welcome children in Kindergarten through 5th
grade. From the moment they arrive, our goal is to create an atmosphere that
feels like a second home—full of laughter, learning, and love.
What We Offer:
• Bible-Centered Curriculum
Children engage daily with Scripture through age-appropriate lessons, memory verses, and
discussions designed to strengthen their understanding of God’s truth and His love for them.
• Homework Help & Tutoring
With dedicated time set aside for homework, our staff provides individual support where needed. We also offer private tutoring sessions for added academic help (for an additional fee), ensuring children finish their day feeling confident and accomplished.
• Music Lessons
In addition to our Helena Community Children’s Choir, for families who wish to enroll, we partner with skilled teachers to provide piano instruction right here at the church—making music both accessible and convenient.
• Creative Arts & Crafts
Modeled after the classical tradition, our arts and crafts projects encourage creativity while also developing fine motor skills, patience, and love for beauty. Projects often connect to seasonal themes, Scripture, or ministry efforts.
• Gym, Games, & Outdoor Play
Children need time to move after a long school day. Each week they enjoy our full-size
gym, outdoor playground, full ball field and basketball court, game room and library, encouraging healthy exercise, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.
• Snacks & Celebration
Nutritious snacks are provided daily, and we love celebrating birthdays and special milestones—making sure each child feels valued and seen.
• Community Service & Ministry Projects
Our children regularly participate in age-appropriate ministry projects, such as making cards for nursing homes, collecting items for local ministries, or creating care packages. These activities teach compassion and show kids that
even at a young age, they can serve and bless others.

equipping our staff with the tools they need to guide children with both
